Participant Criteria

Participants intent on transforming their ideas into a business could include:

• business experience or be a post graduate
• the appetite for substantial business development in international markets
• a business idea that is knowledge based, with some potential for intellectual property ownership
• Owner/director running a start up
• Director/manager working in an existing business with a innovative idea that could become a business in its own right
• R&D academics want to start up a business from a research project
• Graduates with a good idea wanting to start a business
• Recently made redundant or unemployed with a good idea, wanting to start a business

To participate on the programme you must be

• resident in Northern Ireland, or
• prepared to locate your business to the region

Business Idea Criteria:

Your idea should ideally be knowledge sector with some potential for intellectual property ownership.

A propel business idea is likely to result in a business which will sell and operate.

• outside of Northern Ireland with significant export potential,and
• in one of the following sectors:
• Advanced Materials
• Bioscience & Healthcare
• Design Engineering and Photonics
• Emerging and Energy Technologies
• Information and Communication Technology
• Niche Manufacturing
• Internationally Trading Services
